10 Books and 10 Podcasts by Black Storytellers

Growing up, I struggled to find myself in mainstream narratives and media. There weren’t many movies, books, and marketing materials that embodied the stories and experiences of people that looked like me. I spent the majority of my childhood and early adult life trying to find pieces of me in places that weren’t built with me in mind. Thus, I am grateful that we have now gradually moved into a place in our society where I can find stories that resemble mine.

In today’s post, I wanted to share the works of people that have made me see the magic within myself. I am grateful for the wisdom, laughter and grace the below authors and podcasts have shared with me the past few years. I’m even more grateful that future generations will have access to a wide array of stories.
