Whistler

One of my favorite things about living in Seattle is its proximity to the Canadian border. A few weekends ago, I took a short trip to Whistler for a birthday celebration.

Whistler is located in Coast Mountains of British Columbia just 4-hours north of Seattle. We stayed in the heart of the Whistler village to remain walking distance to everything. Strolling through the pedestrian-only walkways of the vibrant village reminded me of European markets. The trees were decorated with bright colorful lights and were mesmerizing amid the majestic backdrop of the mountains.

Although a year-round destination, Whistler is the perfect getaway for the winter.
You can find accommodation to suit every budget and an endless list of activities. Between skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, hiking, taking a spa day and mountain biking you can keep yourself relatively busy.

Tips

Where to stay: I recommend you stay in the village to be walking distance from the best restaurants, shops, and lifts to both mountains. The upper village is also another option and is home to the main luxury hotels surrounding Blackcomb Mountain.
